When we set out on this project we were fully aware that it would not only be time-consuming for us personally but we would also need to engage a far wider general public involvement. It has been very gratifying to see kind messages of enthusiasm and offers of support from musicians within our peer group on social media and we are actively pursuing collaborations with colleagues in the musical sphere as a result of their understandings of what this project is all about.

We are however both ‘pensioners’ living on modest incomes, and the realisation that we really need to produce a worthwhile studio album, to effectively propagate the Just Gentle Go philosophy, is setting us a series of financial challengesto overcome.

Fortunately, there are a number of ways creative artists have traditionally approached this dilemma. Funding sites like Kickstarter and GoFundMe are well established, although more suited to small business start-ups. After research, we have decided that the best route would be for us to set up a Rocketfuel page.

 

Rocketfuel was specifically set up for musicians to promote their works and connect with their audience to pre-order albums, donate to projects etc. We will now to able to give members of the public, friends and supporters, the chance to ‘pay-forward’ for the completed studio album ( ie reserving and pre-ordering a CD/booklet etc) which at the same time will allow us to book the studio time we will need and pay the professional musicians we will be using on the project.
